Christmas buying for Grandkids is SCARY!

"What can I buy for the grandkids with all the scary news out there?"

We've got a great answer for the question, "What can I buy for the grandkids with all the scary news out there about the Date Rape Drug 'AquaBots' and lead paint toy recalls from China.
What are we going to do?"

As many of you know, Linda and I have 5 grandkids (the oldest is 8) and 2 more on the way. We had been wondering this year, what kind of presents can we buy them that are safe and will cause them to remember us all year long? Because we live in another city from all the grandkids, Linda wanted something that would last.

You know how toys are as presents. They play with them for a day or two and then off they go, banished to the toy box, to be forgotten for most of the year. We were looking for something much longer lasting. Then Mike Wise (our Senior Vice President of Operations) and I were talking, (He and Renee have three grandkids) which led us to a unique idea!

"What if our grandkids went to sleep with us every night?" No, No, I don't mean they're going to come live with us and sleep in bed with us every night. I mean what if every night when their mom or dad tucked them into bed, the comforter, the sheets that are tucked in around them was from us - the grandparents? Wouldn't that be a constant, distant reminder of our love for them?

It was a bolt of lightning out of the sky. We need some fantastic children's bedding designs that will make them (our grandkids) want to make their bed every day because the designs are so much fun.

So we got busy and went to find out what designs kids wanted the most. We found out it was: Horse designs, Spiderman designs, Disney Princess designs, Disney/PIXAR Cars designs, Pirates of the Caribbean designs and believe it or not . . . camouflage designs. There's even a pink camouflage design for girls that believe it or not is our most popular design.

What if your granddaughter or grandson was reminded every night as they closed their eyes to drift off to sweet dreams that their grandparents, papa, grandmamma, granny, grandpa or whatever they call you, loves them? They are reminded that you are symbolically wrapping your arms around them in warm comfort for the cold winter nights.

You may not be able to be there every night when they go to bed. But your Christmas Present gets to be there all year long, every night of the year. You get to be right there with them a constant reminder that you are thinking about them.

It was the most perfect gift we could find. We tried it out on Mike's grandkids who live right here in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. They went nuts. One of the boys is really into Spiderman. He now makes his bed every morning with very little prompting from mom. Mike's granddaughter fell in love with Princess Butterfly Kisses. She says it just "completes" her room. Isn't that cute.

So if you've been struggling with all the scary news out there about dangerous toys, we've got a fantastic answer for you.

And here's even better news. We guarantee everything at our expense. Order any of our designs and if for any reason your grandchild suddenly changes what characters they are in love with, you can return it any time within the first 90 days after you order and get a full refund. Or, you can exchange it for any of our other design.

Not only that, but you get free shipping and if you return it we'll pay for return shipping also. The quality of our bedding designs is so good that we can guarantee your satisfaction with our money. You don't risk a thing. We take care of everything.

See all of our designs at: KidBedding4Kids

Be sure you order right away. Some of our designs are in short supply because of all of the demand for Christmas. Don't miss wrapping your love around your grandkids this Christmas. You can even have us send it directly to the grandkids and we will put your special message on the inside and a big "Do Not Open Till Christmas" sticker on the outside. Just make a note on your order and we'll do all the heavy lifting.

Even better, you don't have to trudge out to the mall looking through store after store for their gifts. You get to order with confidence in the comfort of your own home.

Introduction of the Century - Lightening McQueen meets "Mater"

In the PIXAR/Disney animated production of "CARS", Lightening McQueen meets the local town tow truck - "Mater". This intelligent interchange was a humorous play on words. You may remember, it went something like this:

McQ - "Hi, I'm Lightening McQueen".
Mater - "Hi, I'm Mater".
McQ - "What was that?"
Mater - "Mater".
McQ - "Huh?
Mater - "Mater, you know like Ta - Mater, without the Ta!"

As we watched this verbal interchange with our grandkids, they just rolled with laughter. Not only that, but it was so funny they had to repeat the verbal interchange and even went so far as to play the parts of McQueen and Mater. Very Funny!

Not long ago, my wife and my daughter were trying to remember that verbal exchange between McQueen and Mater. They finally did get the initial exchange - BUT they went a little farther. Here's what they came up with:

McQ - "Hi, I'm Lightening McQueen".
Mater - "Hi, I'm Mater".
McQ - "What was that?"
Mater - "Mater".
McQ - "Huh?"
Mater - "Mater, you know like Ta - Mater, without the the Ta!". "Sort of like my little brother, Tater, you know like Pa - Tater without the PA!"
Mater continued - "Hey McQueen, it is even like my long lost cousin, Kin, you know like Pum - Kin without the Pum!"

If you'd been in my house you would have thought the Comedy show was on. They laughed, my grandkids laughed, EVERYONE laughed and of course, then the grandkids had to start doing the "McQueen" and "Mater" impersonations! What a riot! Very, very Funny!

Why not bring the fun and laughter into your home? Cars Bedding - PIXAR/Disney Cars bedding 4 kids can be found and purchased at CarsBedding4Kids.com

Perhaps you could get a set from CarsBedding4Kids.com and then do the "McQueen and Mater" verbal exchange for your kids or grandkids and let the LAUGHTER ROLL!

Creating A Girl's Princess Room
By Sean Cavanaugh

A number of girls these days want to be fairy tale princesses. The commercials are plentiful and the products at the nearby bedding store are often irresistible. Creating the complete princess room is easier than it may sound. Even though I say it is simple, it does require energy and time.

Preparation
As with any proposal, careful preparation is important if you are to succeed with any proposal. Choice of colors, accessories, furniture, and bedding is essential to the success of your redecorating from the beginning to the end.

Colors
A princess area primarily needs to be pink. Pink is connected to charming princesses and will be the best color for creating a memorable girls room. If you stick with various pink shades you really can’t go wrong. However, beware of going too bright. Soft pinks usually work best. You don’t want your eyes to be shocked when you walk into the room. With this choice of color you will achieve a pleasant feel which young girls love.

Accessories
This is where your creativity comes in. Dream of anything that relates to fairy tales. Imagine you are creating an enchanted castle where the beautiful young princess lives. And it doesn't have to be related to fairy tales. Your daughter is a princess in your eyes and you can decorate the space according to how you see her. You could design a new look for your princess. One that has flowers and animals and treasures. Decorating your child 's princess space becomes effortless when you decorate it according to how you see her. Numerous items that are tremendous for a gorgeous princess space are decorative pillows, throws, stuffed animals, flowers, mirrors and various other accessories.

Furniture
You could substitute your child's old furnishings (ex: head board, shelves, night stands, desks) with unfinished furnishings. Coordinate with the rest of the room by priming and painting it pink. You could use different shades of pink to really make the room unique. You don’t need to have a ton of furniture. The essentials would be a dresser, night stand, bed, and possibly bookshelves or a desk. The number of pieces really depends on the amount of space you have to work with.

Bedding
The bedding will really complete the overall theme of the room. Selecting the correct bedding is essential to the success of this room. Try to pick one that matches the overall theme of the room. The princess theme is a popular choice and you should have many to choose from. Remember a pleasantly soft cotton comforter set provides your princess the overall comfort she deserves.

As indicated before, this home decor project requires time and effort in order for it to be a success. It would be a great idea to include your daughter. It can be both a learning experience and quite fun. More importantly it will become a great childhood memory for her.
Hope you have a blast. Remember decorating is suppossed to be fun. Don't get stressed out.

Here are some links to some great items for helping you achieve the overall princess theme of your girls room. For Your Little Princess and Princess Child Decor Be sure to check them out.

Our Grandkids Enjoyed Watching "The Last Mimzy"

Not too long ago, we sat down with our grandkids and watched "The Last Mimzy". It was an enjoyable movie with KIDS as the main characters. We enjoyed the story and drama as "Last Mimzy" tried to work with the 2 main characters, brother and sister. Our grandkids each enjoyed the story and of course the suspenseful drama of two young kids saving the (future) world and mankind.

I pulled up a pretty good "review" from Movies.com. Thought you might enjoy it.

OUR REVIEW-From Movies.com
by Dave White

Who's in It: Chris O'Neil, Rhiannon Leigh Wryn, Joely Richardson, Timothy Hutton, Rainn Wilson, Kathryn Hahn, Michael Clarke Duncan

The Basics: I just sat here at my laptop for 30 minutes trying to figure out what to say about the plot. So, here goes: A boy and his little sister find a box with some stuff in it. One of the things is a clear piece of glass that turns everything into triangles. Then there are some rocks that the little girl can make spin in midair. There's a thing that looks like a very lazy sea creature/blob, and then there's a thing that looks like a crab. There's also a stuffed rabbit. It's alive. It speaks outer-space-rabbit language. It's from the future. It's also the Mimzy of the title. The toys turn the boy into a supergenius, and the little girl into a levitating oracle. And they both wind up somehow being connected to ancient Buddhist teachings about mandalas. And I haven't even gotten to the action yet. See what I mean about feeling stuck?

What's the Deal? This weird, and weirdly entertaining, movie will be, for a certain brand of nerd-kid, what 2001 must have been for drug-addled hippies. It's a freakout for sci-fi-oriented 10-year-olds with a propensity for being fascinated by New Age alternative spiritualities and physics and for reading books like The Elegant Universe before they're really ready. And if your own children don't fall into that category, they'll just like it because it's about kids who develop misunderstood superpowers that they have to use to save humanity even if the grown-ups around them don't get what's going on. And in movies like this, the grown-ups never get it. Kids love that us-against-them dichotomy in their sci-fi fantasies.

Movie It Steals the Most From: E.T. It's got a visitor from another world that can't stay very long or it'll die. It's also got shadowy governmental agencies breathing down the kid's back and the heartbreak of having to say goodbye to that visitor when it has to go home. Really, the only thing missing is Neil Diamond singing "Turn On Your Heartlight." There's a little Escape to Witch Mountain in there, too, but I don't know anyone under 30 who remembers that movie.

And You're Still Thinking, "OK, But What's a Mimzy?"

It comes from this:
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

That's from the nonsense poem "Jabberwocky," which is part of Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass. In turn, it became the 1943 short story called "Mimsy Were the Borogroves," and the movie is an adaptation. See, even its origins are complicated.

Decorating a Kids Birthday Party Without Balloons

When our family gets ready for the kids or grandkids birthday parties, we always struggle with ideas for decorating. I came across this article regarding decorating IDEAS for a Kids Birthday Party, and thought I'd share it with you...enjoy!

Balloons might be fantastic and they are usually considered standard kids birthday party decorating accessories. However balloons are not for everybody. In fact globophobia, the fear of balloons is a very real condition. Not to mention some people just don’t like balloons for no other reason than they JUST don’t like balloons.

Don’t dismiss globophobia , this can be a very life suppressing problem, imagine never attending a kids birthday party for fear of the natural presence of balloons. Well really balloons are a little bit freaky it’s just not right to find bright seemingly solid object floating in the air.
Even without the condition of globophobia, balloons can still be scary. The sudden loud noise they make when they pop is quite terrifying for many. The room suddenly goes quiet and jumps, the heart stops. This is not good at all for someone who might have a heart condition and very painful for someone wearing a hearing aide.

Parents of toddlers may also be concerned of the dangers a balloon might present at a kids birthday. A teething baby will bight down on anything that has their attention, certainly that bright soft ball has their attention. Perhaps a piece of the breaking balloon could catch in the babies’ moth. Babies will taste everything. An already broken balloon looks like something that might be yummy to try.

Balloons are NOT the only way to decorate a kid’s birthday party. There are many new and amazing ways to dress up the house or yard for a party.
Yard art or lawn decorations are an ideal decorating idea without having to use balloons. You can buy these ready made, commissions some to create some new ones in your theme, or even very easily make these yourself using heavy cardboard or light craft board.

Try some dinner plate sized smiley faces, or some cartoon barn yard characters, anything bright and colorful. If you have a kids birthday party theme, have some made in your theme.
Marking smiley faces on paper plates is the easiest way to go, but if you’re keen making your own yard art from the start is far easier than you might imagine. Draw or trace a few easy cartoon type images onto light craft board or heavy cardboard, paint them in and cut them out, then attach them to walls or stake them into the ground. When looking for great pictures try a few clip art images found on the internet or even pictures found in children color in books give great results.

Streamers at a kid’s birthday party are always popular. Unravel rolls and roll of streamers in all colors and simply scatter them everywhere. It’s best to have these in cut into strips of between 1 and 2 ft to lessen the chance of someone tripping over them. Hang them over everything from the ceiling fan and in trees. Don’t worry if some fall to the ground the disorganized color is what makes this work.

Bright color cellophane and tissue paper also looks amazing. To put this to use grab some wire coat hangers or shape come craft wire out to create shapes of squares, stars, circle, and even random blobs. Hang them around or plant then in pot plants and the lawn.
If you’re really feeling crafty you could make a few paper mache balloons a starting a few weeks ahead. You don’t need to make these thick and heavy; just a few layers of paper will do, and finish it off with some bright colored paint.

If your really looking to add some sparkle to your kids birthday party decorating don’t forget your boxes of Christmas decorations, a few pieces of tinsel wrapped around a tree truly livens up a party yard. Some plastic stars, or bright colored tree decorations, anything bright and shiny will do.

Beach balls are also an ideal way to brighten and decorate a room or yard for a kid’s birthday party. They are cheap and reusable. Simply blow them up and leave them everywhere.
Decorating a kids birthday party without balloons is not so difficult when just trying a little imagination, think bright and colorful and your half way there.

Little Girls Love to Pretend They are a “Princess”

My daughter (used to) and my granddaughter loves to “play - pretend” she is a Princess. When my granddaughter is playing with her friends, they play Princess - or some variation (or house, you know what I mean). Some may argue with the “merit” of girls pretending to be Princesses, however I think it is a healthy exercise for their imagination. To FUEL that imagination, there is a new web site that only carries Princess bedding and bedroom decor, PrincessBedding4Kids.com. Go ahead and check out the new bedding site, especially if you have young girls in your family – “Fuel their imagination!”

Young Children "Love" Horses

Most young children love horses. Many of the more popular "kids favorite" movies involve horses. For example: "The Black Stallion"; "Spirit" - by Disney; "Flicka" - I'm sure you can think of others that were your favorite "horse" stories and of course the new stories of today for this generation.

To celebrate our love for horses, Santa Fe Decor, Inc has launched a new website - featuring Horse bedding and Horse bath accessories.

Imagine fueling your child's imagination with their very own horse comforter or bed spread. Their imagination can soar as they ride their "wild mustang" in the Rocky Mountains -or- as they ride their Quarter Horse on the beaches of the ocean. You owe it to yourself the check out this new website, HorseBedding4Kids.com.
